National Geographic Magazine (07/08)
Solvin Zankl's image of an Allen Cays iguana (Cyclura cychlura inornata) is featured in the latest installment of "Wildlife as Canon Sees It". The ad appears in the July 2008 issue of National Geographic Magazine.

Solvin Zankl just returned from a one month trip to Hungary's Tisza River. He documented the Tisza blooming (Tiszavirágzás). It is when millions of long-tailed mayflies (Palingenia longicauda) are rising in huge clouds, reproduce, and perish, all in just a few hours.

A coat in yellow and pink or rather wearing red and violett? All is permitted that pleases - the nudibranchs. The colourful sea slug pictures by Solvin Zankl are combined into a poster by GEOlino (Issue No. 5/2008) to show the unbelievable variety in these marine animals.

Deep sea plankton wins at POYi
Solvin won an award in the 65th annual Pictures of the Year International photojournalism competition. The photo of a deep-water decapod Sergestes lava resived a 'Award of Excellence' in the 'SCIENCE/NATURAL HISTORY' category. The image is part of a story on deep sea plankton for GEO.

Best GEO-Photo of the Year 2007
Solvin's picture of a lady beetle on a dandelion clock is the winning image in a reader voting on www.geo.de. It was rated to be the best GEO-Photo of the Year 2007 - the previous vote in 2001 was also won by Solvin with his photo of a black macaque looking into a discarded mirror.

Deep sea plankton for GEO
The Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), Bremerhaven, invited Solvin to join a cruise on the German research vessel "Polarstern" to the eastern Atlantic Ocean to document the plankton and the deep sea animals collected during a "Census of Marine Life" projekt. He returned with pictures from bizarre species never photographed bevore!

GEO magazine (09/07)
For the last ten years on every first weekend in June GEO initiates a so called „GEO-Day of Biodiversity“. In 2007 Solvin was the main photographer to document German nature in an area of sustainable agriculture.

RANGER RICK Magazine publishes a 8 pages article about Solvin's time at the Falkland Islands in the August 2007 issue.

BBC Wildlife Magazine publishes a 10 pages portfolio of Solvin's story on the Bat-Eared Fox in the July 2007 issue.

The current issue of the German GEO magazine (06/07) features an article about Solvin's time at the Falkland Islands as an instance of his work as a wildlife photographer. His award winning penguin pictures illustrate the story.

Solvin's picture of Rockhopper Penguins has been used extensively to promote the exhibitions of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition 2006 as in Bristol's City Art Gallery

In issue 01/07 GEO Italy published 11 pages of Solvin's story on Penguins

In issue 06/06 GEO Russia published 13 pages of Solvin's Seeds and Flowers

In issue 06/06 GEOinternational published Solvin's story on Seeds as well as the Celebes Tarsier (Tarsius spectrum).

In issue No 6 - 2006 Illustreret Videnskab published Solvin's Golden Lion Tamarin story.

Solvin just returned from a one and a half month trip to the Falkland Islands, bringing with him 15.000 pictures to be edited and selected.
